Robbery escapee arrested while fleeing
Panic button saved the day for a local restaurant during a business robbery.
A man was apprehended following an attempted business robbery at a local restaurant on Without Avenue and Jim Fouché Road in Weltevreden Park on 31 January.
The attempted robbery was foiled by members of EC Security after a panic button alarm monitoring service was activated, according to reaction manager, Norman Mphilo, who nabbed the suspect while he was fleeing the scene.

According to the EC Security report, Mphilo spotted a person resembling the description of one of the suspects as he was en route to the scene. On questioning the person, it came to light that he was one of the wanted persons.
The suspect was taken away by police for further investigation.
