Body found floating in Crocodile River

MULDERSDRIFT — Two murder suspects appeared at the Krugersdorp Magistrates' Court in connection with a body found floating in the Crocodile River.

Two suspects between the ages of 30 and 33 have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a body found in Muldersdrift.

“At around 6am, we received a drowning complaint and upon the officers’ arrival on the scene, the body of a man was floating in the Crocodile River in Rietvlei, Muldersdrift,” Muldersdrift Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya said.

The body is yet to be identified, and had several injuries.

“Investigations are still going on regarding the case but the suspects appeared before the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court this morning (2 March),” WO Ngwenya continued.

Meanwhile, the partnership between members of the public and Muldersdrift Police resulted in the arrest of more than a dozen people on 26 February.

During special operations with the Muldersdrift detectives, 15 people were arrested for various [crimes around the Muldersdrift area https://roodepoortnorthsider.co.za/187378/fourth-person-apprehended-in-brutal-muldersdrift-murder/].

“The suspects were arrested for various types of crime, ranging from assault to murder, and were immediately charged,” said WO Ngwenya.

The suspects all appeared at the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.
