Suspects nabbed for drug dealing

FLORIDA— Four suspects have been detained for drugs during police operations.

Florida Police nipped drug possession and dealing in the bud with the arrests of four suspects during special operations conducted from 4 to 7 October.

The suspects were arrested in separate incidents over the course of the operation. A 36-year-old male was stopped on Highway Street for being in possession of cannibis. Police stopped and searched the driver of a silver Polo in a separate incident on Hull Street and found one Zip-lock plastic bag with a white powder suspected of being methcathonine.

Captain Lydia Mtila-Dikolomela added that all suspects have been detained.

“In the third incident, a 24-year-old foreign national was searched on the corner of Fifth and Maud streets for suspicious behaviour. The police conducted a search at his apartment and drugs believed to be crystalmeth were found in his room.”

Information from the community led police to a shack in Jerusalem Squatter Camp where they conducted a search. Cannabis and an undisclosed amount of money were discovered and the owner was immediately arrested for dealing. All the suspects are expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
