App to locate free WiFi spots

Download the free Jozi WiFi app to find the hotspots available to residents of the City of Johannesburg

There are over 1 000 free WiFi hotspots available throughout the City of Johannesburg (CoJ), but do you know where they are?

To help you find the hotspot nearest you and start saving you on the costs of data, you can download the City’s geo-location app onto your smartphone.

The app doesn’t just help you find the hotspot closest to you, it also gives you directions to get to the specific hotspot. The app also offers users a facility to report any WiFi problems.

Find your perfect spot in a library, community centre, school, Rea Vaya bus station, park or even a swimming pool, and connect to the CoJ’s free WiFi.

All residents are given 300 megabytes of daily data – which amounts to nine gigabytes a month! – to use.

To download the app, go to one of the following links:

– For Android phones, visit the Playstore on https//play.google.com/store/apps/details/?id=blaqberry.nano.za.co.cityjohannesburg
