It’s been a tough year.

So much heartache, sadness and political turmoil and unrest.

Tensions ran high during the elections and so many people faced hardships. But, we made it. We made it through another year. We can now only hope and pray that next year will be more positive.

We also had a few major changes and incidents this year. Most provinces are under new political management and although it is way too soon to tell, we can only hope that things will go better in the future.

The ANC called for president Jacob Zuma’s resignation – a huge step, meaning that the party has realised he is not what this country needs any longer.

Flash-floods caused major havoc on the roads and even claimed some lives. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families, especially at this time of the year

With Christmas knocking on the door, my wish is that we can learn to live in peace and harmony. That calm and peace be restored in this horrible, twisted world of ours because everybody deserves to be loved and taken care of (and that includes animals).

Make this a Christmas to remember – build memories with the people you love the most. Share and care for others, even if you don’t know them. Pay it forward, so to speak.

Next week will be your last edition of the Roodepoort Record for the year, so from all of us, have a joyful and peaceful Christmas.

We will, however keep you updated as news breaks throughout the festive season, via our website, www.roodepoortrecord.co.za.

Until next week, take care of one another.

Ciao
