Nine-year-old Christian Berrington-Smith of Agape Christian School continues to impress in the sport of motocross. He recently participated in the MSA National Motocross Championship in Bloemfontein on 25 May, and managed to win an excellent 3rd place.
Christian got stuck in the start gates in his first heat but pushed his way through to 3rd position. It was in the second heat that he had a better start and finished 2nd, earning himself a 3rd overall place for the day on points and his first national podium win for the season so far.
His achievements last year were consistent and included taking the lead in the Motorsport South Africa Regionals and the World of Motorsport South Africa Inland Series.
The next national round will be held at Dirt Bronco in Krugersdorp on Saturday 6 July, and Christian is hoping to continue his good form and register a podium finish.
Christian’s family and school are very proud of him, as he also enjoys mathematics, and arts and participates in different sporting codes at school.
