Woman of Substance nominee and non-profit organisation (NGO) All Hands on Deck founder has started a project collecting Stikeez for children in paediatric oncology hospital wards.
Gillian Meiring from Ruimsig said the idea was initiated by her through work she has done with the NGO Rainbows and Smiles.
Meiring lost her own son to cancer and decided to start her own charity.
“Through recent visits to the children in the paediatric oncology wards in hospitals, it has come to my attention that the children love the Stikeez,” said Meiring.
She said she is collecting the Stikeez for hospitals across South Africa and will hand them over to the hospitals the second week of October.
