‘Leading Lady’ is set to steal the viewers’ hearts

JOHANNESBURG – International and local cast set to make 'Leading Lady' a film that one should not miss.

Leading Lady is a new Afrikaans movie with an English twist to it that will be screened in cinemas across South Africa on 28 November.

The movie was produced by Henk Pretorius, who also worked on Fanie Fourie’s Lobola. The film is about an idealistic British acting school teacher Jodi Rutherford, played by well-known actor Katie McGrath. Rutherford bumps into farmer Kobus Willemse played by folk singer Bok van Blerk and the two ‘click’ immediately, but there is one glitch because Rutherford is engaged to Daniel Taylor played by legendary American actor Gil Bellows.

Willemse convinces the soft spoken Rutherford to stay on and act in an annual play that takes place on his farm. During their interactions the two fall for each other and the rest is, as they say, history.

Alishia van Deventer, one of the organisers of the media week to promote the film said, “It’s a tale of love and the entire family will enjoy the film.”
