A Dowry Elite reaction officer was driving along President Road behind Princess Crossing when a Toyota Corolla driving in front of him suddenly and unexpectedly started accelerating. A wild chase ensued with the officer in hot pursuit. The suspects skipped traffic lights and stop signs and the chase, now with an Apcan security vehicle in tow as well, continued down Sonop Street. On Swart Avenue the suspects’ vehicle collided with another vehicle but they drove on. The suspects finally abandoned the Corolla on Sir George Gray Street. In Judd Street an off-duty policeman shot one of the suspects in the foot.
