Kindly keep it covered
An exciting and hilarious new play hits the Roodepoort Theatre this July.

Don’t miss Kindly keep it covered, a stage production by Dave Freeman at the Roodepoort Theatre this July. In the farce, Rolad Dickerby (Graham Shirley), formerly of Kindly Mutual Insurance Company, runs a health farm with his wife Julia (Els de Bundel). He bought it with a hefty insurance payout on the demise of Julia’s first husband, the charming rogue Sidney (Spencer Rowley). Life isn’t easy for Roland as a healthy lifestyle is not exactly his cup of carrot juice.
His formidable monster-in-law, Olivia (Nicki Withers) keeps a beady eye on him and he is harassed constantly by portly guests that are manically in search of carbohydrates of the sweet variety.
Fate has something extra special in store for Roland: Sidney has decided to resurrect himself and turns up at the farm just as Vanessa (Oriela van der Walt), the wife of Roland’s ex-boss, checks in for a visit.
Mark Boshoff proudly directs this fast, furious and frantic farce, featuring a manic mannequin, a gurgling water fountain, a bad-tempered camel, an amorous pigeon and a cameo performance by the Fairy Queen from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The production is presented by arrangement with Dalro.
Kindly keep it covered will be showing at the Roodepoort Theatre from 11 to 13 July at either 8pm or 3pm. Full-price tickets can be booked online at https://www.roodepoorttheatre.com.
