FroK’s birthday, Christmas at Kloofendal
FroK is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday 21 December
The Kloofendal Nature Reserve will be closing off the year in all glory and celebration with Christmas and Friends of Kloofendal’s (FroK’s) 10th anniversary on Saturday 21 December.
Many activities will keep attendees busy on the day. From 6am until 8.30am the public are welcome to a long walk through Kloofendal.
“It’s good exercise and we even may see some bucks or reindeers,” says Karin Spottiswoode, FroK spokesperson.
Alternatively, residents can enjoy a birding walk from 6am to 8.30am.
From 9am the site is open for a picnic breakfast – residents should bring their own baskets. FroK will provide birthday cake for everyone in celebration of their 10th anniversary.
Lastly, an informative presentation by Rod Kruger, discussing early gold mining on the West Rand, will be held in the KD Ecological Centre.
The Reserve’s entrance is at the corner of Galena Street and Amphitheatre (also known as Veronica) Street.
These activities are free of charge but booking is essential. For more information contact Karin on 079 693 5608.
