Two of four suspects apprehended in robbery
KLOOFENDAAL - Security guard shot in foiled hijacking

Roodepoort police arrested two of four suspects who allegedly hijacked a vehicle at a home in Topaz Avenue, Kloofendal.
According to Roodepoort police spokesperson Vincent Mashiteng, the suspects, who were driving a VW Golf, followed a resident home and blocked the driveway. They pointed a gun at the driver and demanded valuables (jewellery, cellphones and money).
At the same time, another resident, driving a bakkie, arrived home.The suspects demanded the bakkie’s keys from the driver and as they were about to flee a security team arrived and a shootout erupted. Two suspects fled in the bakkie and as they did so shot a member of the security team, who is currently receiving treatment at Milpark hospital.
The two remaining suspects fled on foot and hid at Kloofendal Nature Reserve. Police searched the reserve and successfully apprehended them. The bakkie was discovered abandoned on Ontdekkers Road. Police are still on the lookout for the two remaining suspects.
