Dealer caught with bag of dagga

Man caught with nearly half a kilo of dagga.

A man (36) was arrested on 7 August afternoon for possession of dagga on Station Street in Roodepoort Central.

Sergeant Laurens, Constable Hlongwane and Student Constable Manzini were patrolling in Roodepoort Central conducting a stop and search. They saw a suspicious man carrying a bag on Station Street and they ordered him to stop. The man ran away and they gave chase and apprehended the suspect.

They searched him and found dagga in his bag. They found 63 wrapped paper packets (277g), 27 Zip- lock plastic bags (104g) and 10 match boxes (104g) in his possession. The suspect was arrested and charged with dealing in dagga.

The suspect appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 8 August on a charge of dealing in dagga.
