The councillor for Ward 70, Caleb Finn, has kept his word and updated the community on the situation with the Third Avenue bridge in Florida.
After reporting it to all of the relevant parties, the JRA Bridge Unit went to the site to assess the situation. A team has been arranged to remove the damaged section of the wall to prevent it from falling and injuring passers-by.
The damaged section will be removed tonight, 29 October, and the JRA will be closing Dan Street (where it runs under the bridge) in preparation for this. According to Councillor Finn, no set time has been given for the closure, so motorists are advised to use alternative routes as JRA could close the road at any time.
