The cream of the crop in cricket talent impressed with bat and ball as they showed off their talent this weekend on the grounds of Hoërskool Florida. The cricketers, in the U/9 to U/13 age categories, were part of the Johannesburg West Cricket trials.
The players were competing for a chance to represent the district later this month. They hail from different schools in the Roodepoort area and the teams from each age category will face off against teams from various districts in the Gauteng province.
Players who impress in the matches will be selected to be part of the annual Standard Bank Gauteng team later this year. In the trials, the players each had four overs in each skill (batting and bowling) in which to show off their technical skills.
