BREAKING: Security officer risks safety to save children

WILGEHEUWEL – No injuries in fire on Curlew Close.

Fire fighters put out a fire on Curfew Close after a flat caught a blaze.

According to an EC Security guard on scene, the fire spread from one flat to another before being put out on 4 April.

Fortunately there were no injuries as the children in one of the flats got out in time.

An owner of one of the flats said she did not know the cause of the fire. She had not been at home when the fire started but her children and nanny were unharmed.BCI Security operations manager, Gerhard Visagie, confirmed Hennie Tolsma of BCI responded to a call of a flat on fire.

“Tolsma went into the burning house to make sure that all the kids were out, regardless of his own safety and they were not a client of BCI. The fire chief is still investigating the reason for the fire,” said Visagie.
