The Roodepoort Meter Taxi Association (ROMETA) held their Annual General Meeting this week.
With an aim at modernizing their business, ROMETA has recently launched a new website and a 24-hour service line for customers.
The association’s secretary Mandla Magagula was excited as he shared the progress they have made with their fleets and operations.
“Technology has improved the industry and we don’t want to be left behind. We are listening to what our customers want. We have started a complaints department and we have people dealing with any disciplinary issues,” he said.
The association has sent their drivers to customer service training workshops to better serve their customers, as well as learning basic first aid in case an emergency situation with a customer arises.
We will be launching a new fleet of cars and we operate from Clearwater and Westgate Malls. Our fleets have no meters anymore; we use fixed prices and guidelines to charge our customers which make it easier. We have audited financial statements so we are a transparent company,” said Magagula.
