4 Facts and myths about ADHD
Having ADHD does not mean the person is lazy or dumb.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is (ADHD) a brain disorder that affects most children in the country.
There are however, many myths people have believed to be true about the disorder.
Because it is World ADHD Awareness Day, here are a few corrected myths:
2. Myth: This condition is caused by bad parenting.
Fact: Although it is not caused by bad parenting, certain parenting techniques can either improve or make certain symptoms worse.
3. Myth: Once you have ADHD, it cannot be treated and you are stuck with the disorder for life.
Fact: Although ADHD symptoms usually continue into adulthood, the person affected learns ways to cope with the symptoms.
4. Myth: Children with ADHD use their condition as an excuse for their active behavior.
Fact: ADHD is a disability and children with the disorder have to learn ways to deal with symptoms that cause them to have difficulties in life.
