Maragon whips up a new batch for the Central West cricket team

RUIMSIG — An all-female cricket team has been chosen as part of the Gauteng Central West cricket teams

Girls have dominated in cricket recently with the latest team to qualify for the Gauteng West cricket teams being an all-female team from Maragon Private Schools.

Coach Kelvin Bekker, who is also a coach to the U13 cricket girls team said, “We are very proud of the representatives from our school. We are thoroughly impressed with the girls team, who have played very well during the season and they deserve to make the team.”

Three players from the girls team Shanna Mendoca, Nicole Grant and Cailin van Tonder qualified for the Gauteng Cricket U/13 girls team.

Maragon’s cricket team recently dominated at the Central West night league, where they made it to the finals against Dr Havenga before being knocked out.
