Expect thunderstorms this week

JOBURG — Drive with caution this week as warnings of an imminent storm are issued.

Expect showers in most parts of Joburg this week, as The South African Weather Services have issued a warning from 10 November. According to forecaster Vanethia Phakula, the weather will be relatively warm despite the expected thunderstorms. “We are expecting fairly warm conditions, a high of 31 in Pretoria and 28 in most parts of Johannesburg. We have not seen an indication of hail,” said Phakula.

Motorists in Johannesburg are advised to drive with caution, especially as roads are likely to be slippery. Emergency personnel have warned drivers to switch on their headlights and keep a safe following distance.
