Young Judoka to SA’s

Six-year-old Winner is a tiger, says Sensei.

Six young Judoka from the KJK Judo Club at Horizon View Primary will be competing at the South African Primary School Novices in October.

Tyrique Bessit, Christelle Goliath, Samiya Gabier, Carlin Anthoney and Zackery Allie are all pupils of Horizon View Primary while six-year-old Winner Sefanyetso is a pupil of Discovery Primary. Winner might be the smallest in the group but Sensei Katje Bruwer says he is a tiger on the mat.

As preparation for the competition the six Judoka took part in the Central Gauteng Champion of Champions competition recently and walked away with a whole bouquet of medals.

Christelle won Gold, Winner took two Golds, Samiya won a Bronze and Carlin also won Gold.

The six Judoka will take part in the South African Primary Schools Novices competition on 4 October at the Portugese Hall in Turffontein

  1. I read this with glassy eyes because the six year old Judoka is my nephew. He is marked for greatness. We thank God who knew him before He was born. I agree with Sensei that the young Judoka has the tenacity of a tiger but he actually is a Lion. Bravo, Sebata!
