Sundowns poach Niang from neighbours.
Mame Niang has left one Tshwane-based team for another.
Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of Senegal striker Mame Niang from Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.
The deal sees midfielder Dove Wome move the other way on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
Pitso Mosimane wanted to ensure that his side was balanced and with Niang’s aerial strength they have someone that will offer them another dimension as they go in search of African glory.
Niang first arrived on South African soil ahead of the 2005/2006 season for Moroka Swallows.
The lanky forward ended the campaign with 14 goals to end the season as the league’s top scorer before joining German club Wolfsburg.
Sundowns is Niang’s third Tshwane club, having also played for AmaTuks in the past two years.
