Western Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch celebrates Youth Day

Mammoth support from residents shows that Witpoortjie is serious about security.

The recently renamed Western Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW), previously Witpoortjie Neighbourhood Watch, celebrated Youth Day with a Family Day recently.

The carnival-like event that was held opposite Hoërskool Die Adelaar also aimed to raise awareness and unify residents of the area.

This ideal gathering for families and friends included a performance by the band Bevonk, the artist Dudley, boeresport, a show by the police dog unit, a potjiekos competition, paintball, a beauty pageant and a flea market.

According to Annete van Rensburg the good showing of residents is an indicator that the community is serious about fighting crime.
