Pupil moves on karate roll

RUIMSIG - Maragon pupil will represent Gauteng at the Japan Shotokan Karate Association South African Karate Championships.

Maragon Private Schools pupil Danté de Wit competed at the Shotokan Gauteng Open Championships for Karate on 3 May. He received two bronze medals for kata and kumite.

With his outstanding and exceptional performance, he was selected for the Gauteng team that will be competing at the Japan Shotokan Karate Association South African Championships between 30 and 31 May in Pretoria.

Marketing manager of the school Belinda Espag said they were proud of his achievement. ” He has done well and as a school, we wish him good luck for the next round of championships.” She added that by being selected to represent the province, De Wit was already a winner.
