Eisteddfod awards for first-time pupils
For the first time in its 16-year existence the Grace Christian School in Poortview entered its pupils into an Eisteddfod, and pupils did not leave empty-handed. For the first time in its 16-year existence the Grace Christian School in Poortview entered its pupils into an Eisteddfod, and pupils did not leave empty-handed.
Several diamond awards (90 percent and above), the highest grading possible, were achieved.
Poetry participants Nomonde Shongwe and Rumbi Muchagoneyi received diamond awards, while Nomfundo Mavi, Wandile Moloi, Mathari Makhajane and Sandra Obidiegwu took away gold. Zoleka Mauleke received silver.
Mpho Lingalo received a silver award for her solo singing performances and platinum for public speaking. For the trio singing performance, Jasmyn van Biljon, Limpho Malope and Melissa Baggott won gold.
Pupils who created artworks were highly graded with Andrew Pretorius receiving a platinum award, Miriam Craig gold, and Tasmyn Cox and Desireé Frost both receiving silver.
