The power box of a complex in Lindhaven was the target for cable thieves for a second time.
On Monday 15 July a tenant of the complex provided the Record with photographs of yet another attempted cable theft incident on Saturday 13 July.
“It is the second time that cable thieves got to the power box with the intent to steal it. We had a similar incident earlier this month.
“We do not know what to do anymore and not even the police can help. When they arrived at the premises this past weekend they told a voluntary gardener of the complex that they can not do anything.”
She says, “Although we do have power, it affects us all because the bills increase. We have to pay every time they attempt to steal the cables,” she says angrily.
The tenant believes that the culprits live in the nearby informal settlement.
The Record is investigating.
