UPDATE: Woman (42) still in ICU

According to an update from ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, the woman that was rushed to Leratong hospital after being saved from her burning car at Westgate is still in ICU.

“From communications with the hospital on Thursday evening, we know that the woman is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following her third degree, full-body burns.

“ER24 has not received an update since.”

Although some eyewitnesses believed her to be attempting suicide in the burning car, Vermaak says that her reaction might have been caused by shock from the situation.
