Swallow your words — Clinton keeps it simple

From Stormers fan to boere chef.

How do you end a day that started with a riot in Matolesville and ended with a shootout and highjacking in Witpoortjie?

With your colleagues, their life partners, some new friends and a hearty soulful meal. That was exactly what we got from our Sports Journalist Clinton.

Being a no-nonsense boere boytjie who we knew would rather be next to a sports field somewhere than cooking (the closest he gets is braaing), everyone were slightly apprehensive.

The like pack of wolfs the journos enjoyed a beer and red wine, salivating while Clinton put the finishing touches to his piece de resistance.

What a surprise, although somewhat odd as far as combination goes. As a side dish to counter the rest of the spicy food were a good old fashion pasta Alfredo and farm style bread.

Because of the carnivorous nature of most of the gang the important dishes were a large flattened chicken breast wrapped in raw bacon, spiced with fresh chilies, black and white pepper, Tabasco baked until it the bacon cooked and venison wors that was grilled and also smothered in a less hot chilies sauce.

After discussing everything from the horror of the Secrecy Bill to Netball Clinton announced that there were entertainment.

Video games. Strange for a bunch of adults but good to forget about the stresses of our work.

While cold outside good food and goo company warmed our hearts.
