Help bolster hygiene at Honeydew Police Station

The station, which services a large portion of the Roodepoort and Honeydew areas, will remain open amidst the lockdown from midnight on 26 March, as declared by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

With essential-services staff excluded from the Covid-19 lockdown, Ward 89 councillor Amelia Bester has requested that residents and businesses donate Covid-19 essentials to Honeydew Police Station.

The station, which services a large portion of the Roodepoort and Honeydew areas, will remain open amidst the lockdown from midnight on 26 March, as declared by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

“Residents and business owners, with the recent announcement of the Covid-19 pandemic, some essential services are just not able to close doors and work from home,” she said.

“We are putting a request out to the public to assist us in getting the essential protective gear and sanitizes for our local Honeydew Police Station,” Bester requested, calling upon any businesses with masks, gloves and sanitizers to donate them to the public servants.

“We will make arrangements to collect and distribute accordingly. Please feel free to get in contact with Honeydew Community Policing Forum public relations officer, Michael Steyn on 084 496 3852,” she urged.
