Pageant finalist aims to empower young girls
“I believe in the ethos of this pageant and I’m aiming to lead by example, creating an atmosphere of acceptance and confidence,” she said.
Sixteen-year-old Kyla Taylor is using her calling for modelling to lead young women on the West Rand by example.
Her hard work both on the modelling and social scenes recently earned her a place as a finalist in the Miss Regal International Teen South Africa 2020 competition.

According to Kyla, the pageant aims to bring about change in the lives of young South African women, equipping them with the right tools to become successful in all they do – an objective which she believes in.
“I believe in the ethos of this pageant and I’m aiming to lead by example, creating an atmosphere of acceptance and confidence,” she said.
“By using this platform to encourage authenticity and self-confidence, I believe I can create a stepping stone towards our future of empowerment,” she added.

Beside her love of being on the runway and in front of the cameras, Kyla is a Trinityhouse Little Falls learner and an official ambassador for End Girl Hate. She is an advocate for the Braveheart Foundation – an organisation that supports programmes that help under-served populations, with special emphasis on children and families, through education, health and wellness, and grassroots community action programmes.
Kyla is also a model at Ace Model West Rand, and said the agency has helped her to work hard to gain the required confidence in the glitz and glam industry. Furthermore, she believes in building up people and aspires to be a role model to younger girls through her craft.
