Ruiter Wrestling Club takes top honours
The Ruimsig outfit secured an impressive top position in the tournament, finishing above their West Rand rivals, West Rand Wrestling Gymnasium.
Ruiter Wrestling Club (RWC) took home top honours when they emerged second to none at the Central Gauteng Mufasa Challenge that was held at the Danie van Zyl Hall in Newlands on Saturday, 15 February.
The RWC wrestlers wasted no time in making their opponents fall down like dominos in a packed Newlands venue.
The Ruimsig outfit secured an impressive top position in the tournament, finishing above their West Rand rivals, West Rand Wrestling Gymnasium.
“I am very proud of my wrestlers; they demonstrated that hard work really pays off. Their determination and winning attitude are just amazing to witness,” said head coach Dean van Zyl.
West Rand Wrestling Gymnasium finished second overall, followed by Danie van Zyl Wrestling Club, the hosts of the tournament.
The Central Gauteng Mufasa Tournament final points scores were as follows:
• Ruiter Wrestling Club – 128 points
• Wesrand Stoeigimnasium – 114 points
• Danie van Zyl Wrestling Club – 86 points
• Bears Wrestling Club – 66 points
• Eagles Wrestling Club – 59 points
• Primrose Wrestling Club – 56 points
• Centurion Wrestling Gymnasium – 10 points
• Elsburg Wrestling Club – 7 points
• Brakpan Wrestling Club – 5 points
