According to Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Constable Slindile Ntuli, the victim was with his wife and children during the ordeal.
“At approximately 7.10pm, a victim aged 48 was at a Sasol Garage with his wife and two children filling up his white Land Cruiser, when a white Mercedes-Benz stopped next to the victim’s vehicle,” she said.
“Three suspects wearing balaclavas in possession of firearms jumped out of the Mercedes-Benz. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded his wrist watch. He then instructed the victim and his family to get out of the vehicle.”
An informant at the garage, who was grateful that no one was injured, described the incident as a ‘quick job’ that lasted less than a minute.
““All three suspects jumped inside the victim’s vehicle and drove off,” Ntuli explained, adding that the suspects are still at large.
She urged anyone with information pertaining to the criminals’ whereabouts to contact Muldersdrift Police Station on 0119524600 or Crime STOP on 0860010111.
