Responders on scene, with the help of neighbours, jumped in and started hosing down the fire with hosepipes.
They managed to contain the fire and put most of it out by the time CoJ EMS arrived.
“Well done to all members who jumped in to assist a fellow community member. It could have been a lot worse, but the quick reaction from all members definitely saved the day,” said Honeydew CPF Public Relations Officer, Michael Steyn.
Florida FIre station 20 members dampened the last bit and also checked the house to ensure that the fire is completely out.
