Residents of Radiokop and surrounding areas have raised concerns about the possibility that traffic lights on Nic Diederichs Road at Vintage Street and Taylor/ Mozart Roads had been tampered with.
According to an eyewitness, the traffic lights appear to have been rigged on Monday, 20 January to show green on both sides.

Road users have reported both traffic lights several times in the past week. It seemed they had been switched off, requiring Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) to switch them on again.
One resident said, “The box on Taylor Road is the small beige one right on the corner. We have seen tow truck drivers tampering with it more than a year ago, so I suspect it may be the same modus operandi, although there is no evidence of that as yet.”
The community is advised to contact Johannesburg Metro Police Department on 011 375 5911 or the Honeydew CPF, should they witness any suspicious activity.
