Safety tips for the festive season
Many places of fun and entertainment will be crowded during this period, with music festivals and clubbing being just two of Johannesburg's favourites.
It has become important of late to approach the festive season, a time where family and friends take time off from their work commitments and simply let loose, with caution.

The Northsider decided to revisit some safety tips that were provided by BCI Security to help women when they are out and about.
The safety tips are as follows:
* When you are out at night, make sure that you are in a group of trusted friends.
* Make sure to wear appropriate clothing.
* Always make sure to let a loved one know where you will be going.
* Don’t take opened drinks from anyone at a club or party.
* Keep to a curfew and travel home with someone that you trust.
* Remember, during an emergency the number to call is 10111.
