American actress and comedian, Regina Lee Hall was born on 12 December 1970 in Washington DC, United States.

She is best known for her multiple leading roles, most recently in Girls Trip, Little and Shaft.

Hall has appeared in numerous television series, most prominently in a recurring role on the comedy series Ally McBeal from 2001 to 2002.

Hall, who was an English major in college, wanted a career with impact and envisioned one in writing or journalism, but her first semester of graduate school changed drastically when her father died of a stroke. She ventured into acting in her late twenties.

At the age of 14 she considered becoming a nun, but didn’t. In 2010, when she was 40, Hall tried to become one after a bad break-up, but was refused as the cut-off age is 39.
