TKSWR crowned kings of JVW
The West Rand girls finally got to lift the cup and were crowned champions at a prestigious JVW Awards ceremony on 8 November at the Kempton Park Civic Centre.
The King’s School West Rand (TKSWR) U/17 girls’ soccer team has wrapped up the 2019 season of the JVW Girls’ School League as champions.
These dedicated players earned their bragging rights after reigning supreme in their very tough division, which consisted of 34 teams competing in four streams.

The 10 best teams, including TKSWR, moved up to the qualifiers playoff. After soldiering on and navigating to the finals, they clinched a victory against a competitive Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy.

This league was formed in 2012 with a mere 12 teams. Fast-forward to seven years later, and the league had grown tremendously, attracting 87 schools and 160 school teams across the U/15, U/17 and Open age groups in 2019.
