Assist in locating missing youngster
According to the missing person post on Facebook, he was last seen leaving his complex in Radiokop on his black and yellow Yamaha BWizz scooter with bug-eye off-road headlights.
An appeal has been put out to locate 24-year-old Dane Pretorius who was last seen on Monday, 14 October.
According to the missing persons post on Facebook, he was last seen leaving his complex in Radiokop on his black and yellow Yamaha BWizz scooter with bug-eye off-road headlights. The scooter has the following stickers: The Doctor 46, Valentino Rossi MotoGP and section 9.
Residents are cautioned to phone the police when they see Dane since they suspect he might be in psychosis (severe mental disorder) and is without his medication for schizophrenia, which makes him dangerous.
How to communicate more easily with someone in psychosis:
1. Keep your statement short, simple and clear.
2. Use a calm voice and steady tone.
3. Give the person physical space rather than crowding him or her.
4. Acknowledge what they’re experiencing and how they might be feeling.
5. Don’t argue with or challenge the delusions or hallucinations.
6. But don’t pretend to believe them yourself.
