Staff at the Engen asked a BCI Security patrolman, who was in forecourt, to assist with a complaint. Arno Dorfling, Operations Manager at BCI Security, confirmed the events. “The suspect was attempting to purchase airtime with a fake R100 note. It was a very poor attempt at a fake. The man said he had found the money on the floor. He was in possession of R300 in fake money, a R100 note and a R200 note,” said Dorfling.
The suspect was charged and detained at the Honeydew Police Station.
