Trinityhouse Little Falls Preparatory School Grade 7 learners applied the theory of entrepreneurship they have learnt when they hosted an entrepreneurship/ market day on the last day of the term on Friday, 20 September.
The learners put up a number of stalls and sold goodies to their younger schoolmates during the event.

“Because entrepreneurship is one of their topics in Economic and Management Sciences (EMS), they basically put what they learnt into practice by running their own businesses for the day,” Grade 7 EMS teacher, Samantha Becker, explained.
She added that part of the exercise was for them to learn teamwork, collaboration and money management.

For the first time, patrons used a special currency called the Trinity dollar to buy from the various stalls.
“All the profits made during the event go back to the Grade 7s for their outing at the end of the year, and also for them to buy a gift for the school,” the Preparatory School’s deputy principal, Riaan Smit explained.
