Two thugs, who took advantage of a property being renovated on Potgieter Street in Honeydew on Thursday, 22 August, were nabbed after attempting to escape.
According to BCI Security’s Rudi Holtzhausen, the suspects broke into a house being renovated and stole two doors from the inside of the house.

“Workers on the property chased the suspects and caught them. Upon returning to the property with them, the suspects managed to escape,” he explained.
He added that when the suspects saw a BCI K9 officer driving on Peter Road, they attempted to flee. “The officer alerted the BCI TRT officer who was at the crime scene. The area was searched and the two suspects were found running towards Potgieter Street,” he explained.
The officers caught and detained the two suspects and the workers recovered the stolen doors.
“Honeydew Police arrived on scene shortly afterwards to arrest the suspects,” Holtzhausen concluded.
