Woman struck by vehicle at busy intersection
According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 7.23am to find the woman lying in the emergency lane while the light vehicle was found parked a few metres away.
A 55-year-old woman was left seriously injured this morning, Thursday, 22 August, when she was struck by a light motor vehicle at the Christiaan De Wet and Hendrik Potgieter Roads intersection near Makro in Strubens Valley.
According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 7.23am to find the woman lying in the emergency lane while the light vehicle was found parked a few metres away.

“Medics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained a serious injury to her leg and was in a serious condition.The patient was treated for her injury and provided with pain-relief medication before she was transported to Helen Joseph Provincial Hospital for further care,” Meiring explained.
He said that the driver of the vehicle escaped injury and local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
