Allen Glen hosts a successful Twizza Cup
Allen Glen's U/15s took on Hoërskool Zeerust in a tightly contested match that ended in a 10–5 victory for the home side.
Six schools, including Allen Glen High School, competed in the Twizza Cup on Saturday, 3 August at the school’s grounds in Allen’s Nek.
Allen Glen’s U/14s won the first game of the day when they beat Glenharvie High School by scoring four tries. The visitors responded with one converted try to make the final score 22–7 in favour of Allen Glen.
Next up was the U/16s match between Bracken High School and Hoërskool Wolmaransstad, which Bracken won by 42–24.
Allen Glen’s U/15s then took on Hoërskool Zeerust in a tightly contested match that ended in a 10–5 victory for the home side.
The main fixture of the day was between the first teams of Allen Glen and Klerksdorp Hoërskool. The visitors drew first blood, but lost their momentum in the second half, going down to a strong running Allen Glen side by 60–5.
