Local businesses, Residents Associations and residents are encouraged to take part in a clean-up between Hendrik Potgieter Road and Albert Street in Weltvreden Park on Saturday, 15 June.
The initiative comes after residents became frustrated at witnessing the dreary landscape of litter between Hendrik Potgieter Road and Albert Street, especially when travelling from Town Square towards to Panorama Primary School and some of the streets crossing Albert Street.
The Weltevreden Park Community group with the assistance of BCI Security, West Rand Reaction Unit and the proactive members of the community, have decided to organise the clean-up with the aim of giving the streets a face-lift.
Gloves will be provided and Pikitup will be made aware of this effort to restore some pride in the community. However, residents are encouraged to bring their own waste bags and litter pickers.
