Nurses celebrated for their hard work
The Life Healthcare Group employs as many as 10 000 nurses across the country and celebrates them for being at the heart of patient-centred care.
Friday, 10 May, marked International Nurses’ Day, which was celebrated under the theme ‘A voice to lead.’
On this day, Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital and the life Healthcare Group appreciated their nurses and the work they do. The unsung heroes were each treated to a box of snacks, flavoured water, popcorn, a gift and a nurses’ key ring.
They also watched a motivational video which addressed choices and behaviours.
“One of the best parts of my job is hearing kind words and receiving notes of praise about our staff from patients and their loved ones. It’s a daily affirmation of the work done by Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital,” said Adri Botes, Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital’s Manager.
“I am forever grateful to our entire nursing staff for their selfless dedication to our patients and our hospital,” added Adri.
Henthia Nappies, a nurse at Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital, said, “Nurses’ Day is when nurses get celebrated and acknowledged for the good care they provide on a daily basis. This is a time for nurse to be cared for. It’s also a time for us to remind ourselves of the covenant made. I really look forward to Nurses’ Day, when all the attention and focus is on us. Nursing is a calling to most of us. To be part of a team and able to help someone during their time of need, is a fulfilling task. Thank you to all the hardworking nurses (at all levels) who give their best always.”
