Commuters injured in two separate taxi accidents
These accidents were left in the hands of the police to investigate them further.
Two taxis were involved in separate accidents in the Roodepoort area on Thursday, 2 May.
The first reported incident occurred on the corner of Hendrik Potgieter and Handicap Roads in Ruimsig. Fortunately, according to the Suburban Control Centre, no serious injuries were reported.

The second taxi crash happened after a man driving a light motor vehicle apparently swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a 1-ton truck which ended up sideways across the lanes causing a further collision with another taxi and a car on the corner of Ontdekkers and Hendrik Potgieter Roads in Florida North.

Ross Campbell, ER24’s spokesperson said, “ER24 paramedics arrived at 3.23pm, and found other services also on the scene. Five people were treated, including a 65-year-old female taxi passenger who had suffered moderate injuries and was taken by us to a private hospital, and three others from the same taxi with minor injuries, who were transported to the Helen Joseph Hospital. A man from the first car, believed to be in his late 50s, was taken to a private hospital in a stable condition”.
These accidents were left in the hands of the police to investigate them further.
