Bronwyn returned to her home on the night of Thursday, 28 March at about 9.30pm to find her beloved feline bleeding on the bathroom floor. Bronwyn initially didn’t realise the extent of her pet’s injuries, but knew that she had been shot and rushed her to a vet as quickly as she could.

She took her cat to Fourways Veterinary Hospital where she underwent surgery to have the bullet removed from her abdomen. Another surgery followed. “She needed another surgery to have her spleen removed and a hole in her intestine repaired, but her recovery is looking good so far,” Bronwyn said.

The bullet removed from the cat’s stomach is believed to be a high-velocity pellet, according to Bronwyn.
