Starting high school can fill a teenager with anxiety, despite being jubilant for finally having shaken their primary schools’ dust from their feet.
The unnecessary tension and anxiety were turned into euphoria for the Grade 8 class at The King’s School West as the school kicked off the new academic year with a theme for learners in a bid to make them feel at home.
Army of Bear in the Army of God was the theme, which saw learners spending their first day wearing face paint and props which depicted a bear. The theme managed to loosen them up as they got to know each other during the course of the day.
