Passenger dies as truck goes off Hendrik Potgieter Road into ravine
The road has reportedly been reopened following the vehicle recovery

It is believed the passenger was dead on arrival following the accident in the very early hours of this morning.
It’s unknown in which direction the truck was travelling, but it is understood that due to the weather conditions visibility was poor on Hendrik Potgieter Road.
The truck went over a bridge into the ravine through which Muldersdrift se Loop flows, a few hundred metres from Furrow Road on Hendrik Potgieter.
According to a release from Netcare 911, they responded to a call regarding the accident at 1.38am this morning.
The release further said “Sadly the passenger sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
“The driver sustained moderate injuries and once stabilized was transported to hospital for further treatment.”
