Brigadier addresses Zandspruit community

The spokesperson for the station, Captain Balan Muthan, assured the community that “There will be a continuous interaction with the Zandspruit community so that crime can be eradicated”.

Continuous, regular engagements are expected to take place between Honeydew Police and the community of Zandspruit in a bid to eradicate crime.

This promise was made by the Honeydew Police station commander, Brigadier Anesh Maharaj, who visited Zandspruit on 17 November after the outcry about the scourge of brazen business robberies in the area.

Maharaj, who addressed about 300 community members in extremely hot conditions, encouraged the community to come forward with information that would help the police solve criminal cases in the area. He also urged residents to form their own sub-sector forums for the Community Policing Forum (CPF).

Before concluding, he provided the contact details of sector vehicles, detectives and the police station for residents to report crime incidents.
